One of the things that have defined the Nigerian government over the years has been the typical inability to tackle emerging issues effectively and efficiently. That inability to judiciously take potential problems of Adamawa State in their formative stages have been the root cause of a number of the problems facing the Bindow’s Administration. If the current Political nonentities had been tackled the right way during its formative years, especially in 2017, Bindow’s increasing headache from these political nonentities probably would not have been pronounced. It is saddening to see Gov. Bindow spending chunks of the State’s fortune on defending baseless allegations from these Abuja politicians, who see politics as a game of chance and luck. This charade continued during the recent APC congress in Adamawa State, where these apprentice politician gather in a popular hotel in Yola, claiming to have finished their congress. A careful look the profile of some this apprentice politicians suggests that majority of this group member cannot even win a ward councilor in Adamawa State in a free and fair contest, but want to be Governor 2019. Before the current political horse trading began, there was hue cry from  the Abuja politician claiming to be marginalized in different parts of the State, which according to this disgruntle politician was never tackled. The continual silence from Comrade Sajoh, the current Commissioner for information and the Gov. Bindow media team echoes the events that led to the current political crisis in the State. Now, each of these problems has escalated because the Governor’s media aides either failed to act quickly and rightly or they acted late and the wrong way. Today, there is something these media managers of the governor are not doing right or actually doing the wrong way, it is due to their unprofessional efforts of quenching the rumours of Bindow’s wrong doing and the accusation from the former disgraced SGF. Lawal, that the Governor is playing religious politics in the State. The political adversary of the governor is responsible and guilty of spreading false news. There are better ways to go about quenching rumours that supposedly have no element of truth. We must first establish that the news is false. Until now, the Governor aides have not done that. The rumored of Gov. Bindow and the permanent secretary, ministry of works, and the manager Traicta Nig. Ltd in a Photoshop pictured suggesting that, money was seen around the Governor first made way to social media on the evening of April 2nd. The report was that traicta was seen in the Photoshop picture giving kick back to the governor. why this fake news left unchallenged by the commissioner, the governor’s media aide who made attempt to refute the lies in the social media penultimate week, was being questioned by a commissioner, why he spoke to the press and who authorized him according to speak,  a  close source to the governor told this news medium in confidence. In all fairness, the report was odd and out of place, and one could at best imagine how it made its way to the mind of Nigerians and Adamawa residents so much that it was rapidly reproduced in different forms. Unfortunately, in response to the rumor, with the whole country waiting to know the true state of the Photoshop picture of the governor, the best the media aides could come up with was a reply through The Finder Newspaper issue of 4th April, 2018. Soon after, reports started coming out that the Photoshop about the governor was not true, that no money was given to the governor, some saying he was being bribed by Traiacta. Even though the media aides to the governor have come out to tag the news fake, they have, until this moment, failed to quell reports of the governor playing religious politics in Adamawa State, because they are going about it the wrong way. Even if the rumors die this moment, it will resurface in the nearest future. We will not be witnessing this sort of ugly episode if Comrade Sajoh can come with his usual style of responding to critics during his days as chief press secretary to the former Governor of Adamawa State. The issue of branding Bindow as a religious governor by political adversary is something that has everything to do with everyone. In a world where technology provides us an endless possibility of ways to quench such soul poisoning news, we expect the commissioner for information and the governor’s media aides to stand up and challenge the fake news being circulated by those who never wish Adamawa State well.  Nothing is wrong with truth, it is better to put out a statement of the issue that boarder with the governor’s integrity. Statements can be put out from anywhere. A call can be made from anywhere. A picture can be created out of nothing. The fact is until the governor’s aides come out with a concrete report on the achievements of the governor, people will continue to feed on the rumours, and there is little or nothing the governor aides can do about that. In fact, the recent rumor that the governor issued an order for the commissioner of information not to joined issue with anybody cannot be true, and most of the media aides to the governor spoke on condition of anonymity confirm that the commissioner of Information threaten to report any aides who join issue with the governor’s adversary and producers of fake news, this is nothing but needless aggression. As a matter of fact, it only tells us the possibility of anomaly somewhere. There is a better way to shut rumor mongers up. All the digital arms of Adamawa State government house media need do is set up a 15 minute or so address from the governor on Facebook Live or Periscope. If the concerned lots and the mischievous ones could see the achievements of the governor well and fine, then the government can proceed to sue anyone who produce or reproduces such news. First, the news or reports must be proved to be false, totally, else no one can blame the masses for feeding on rumours. Bindow media managers, the commissioner for information should take a clue from Lai Mohammed who uses all his energy at every given occasion to defend the action and the inaction of President Buhari or Adesina and Garba Shehu who ridicules President Buhari’s opponent and educate Nigerians on the sins of the opposition politicians. Even Moshood, the police ppro in Abuja does not need anyone to remind him before defending the IG and the entire police force in the event of any criticism. In all, media officers that are connected to the Governor need to revamp and refurbish their archaic method of presenting information to the people. They need not necessarily attack people, their job is to inform and they can do that without causing any unnecessary drama. Silence at this point can only destroy the achievements of Bindow not saving him from his political enemies. My humble polite advice to Bindow’s media aides is simple, WAKE UP FROM YOUR SLUMBER.
