Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has lambasted those who bought charmed meat at Ikare Akoko the headquarters of Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Eight cows were struck dead by lightning at a mountain in Oyinmo Quarters, late on Tuesday evening. The herdsmen took to their heels on noticing what had happened.

They later quickly went to sell the meat to some butchers who but it at a cheap price. They were subsequently arrested.

The Ondo state government has therefore suspended the sales of cow meat in four local governments in the area over the incident.

Reacting to the report via his Twitter handle, Fani-Kayode, pointed out that those who bought the meat must be under a spell.

“When you insist on eating charmed cow meat it dulls your senses and you stop asking pertinent and relevant questions about your condition and situation as a people. When you are under that spell nothing matters to you anymore except getting & eating even more charmed cow meat!”

36 cows were killed by lightning in Ijare town in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state barely a month ago. The places the cows went to graze is said to be restricted areas in the South West state.
