Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has revealed that the trafficker who sold a Nigerian girl into slavery in Lebanon has been arrested.
Two Nigerians and one Lebanese have been arrested by officers of the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC after a lady, Ajayi Omolola, from Osun State who was sold into slavery in Lebanon cried out for help in a video that went viral. Read here
Abike Dabiri-Erewa took to her social media page to reveal that the alleged trafficker who sold the Nigerian girl out as a slave has been arrested and her family have been traced. She wrote;
The alleged trafficker has been arrested and will be handed over to NAPTIP. The family of the lady have been traced.. Kwara Gov is personally on the matter. All hands on deck to ensure the trafficked lady returns.
