According to Kuwaitlocal, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior said the law enforcers managed to take control over a group of expats from some African countries who were seen gathered in Mahbula area on a recent video going viral on social media.
This is coming after about 1500 residence violators of different nationalities but mostly Asian and African were accepted at the centers who registered to leave the country without paying any fines and also gets a free ticket to country of origin.
The head of the evacuation and shelter, Major General Abdin Al-Abidin stated that the centers dealt quickly with the large numbers of violators of the residence law from all communities to take advantage of the decision of the Ministry of Interior.
They were received and completed their travel procedures easily and conveniently in order to achieve the goal.
Al-Abidin added that, since the Ministry of the Interior’s deadline given to the violators to leave began April 1, the reception centers for residency violators have received about 17,700 violators of various nationalities, noting that 2,000 of Filipino community left already.
So the expats seen on the viral video were actually waiting for buses to take them to a school where they would stay pending their repatriation, said a statement from the Ministry’s public relations and security media department in response to the viral video.
The buses were not at the site when the migrants awaiting deportation arrived, and some crowds were about to spill out of control so the public security officers stepped in to control the situation.
The African expatriates were sent back to their home pending the arrival of the buses, according to the statement.
