Author Odega Shawa has nabbed a fraudster who was trying to defraud book readers of their hard-earned money online.

The fraudster created a fake account on Facebook with the username Ikenna Samuel and left comments asking people to send him a message to get copies of Odega Shawa’s latest novel titled Hello, Vagina.

Odega saw the comment and posed as an interested buyer. He sent a message to the number the Facebook user left to make enquiries.

The fraudster then gave him an account number to make payments for the book and it turns out the account owner has a different name from the name he’s using on Facebook. The account name of the fraudster is Ibrahim Muhammed.

When Odega asked to see a copy of the book, the fraudster had nothing to show, so he lied that the book is “packaged”.

The author has released the chat to warn people conducting businesses online to be careful.
