The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC), has arraigned the former secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal before an FCT High court in Abuja, on a 10 count charge bordering on alleged conspiracy and fraudulent acquisition of property.

Babachir who was sacked by President Buhari in October 2017, pleaded not guilty to the 10 count charges brought against him by the Federal Government.

The court is still in session at the moment.

Babachir among other things has been accused of using his position as Chairman of the Presidential Initiative for the North East PINE, misappropriated funds meant for the rehabilitation of IDPs and also for allegedly diverting some of the funds meant for PINE to his personal company.
