A woman has been arrested for threatening to blow up the Swedish Embassy in support of A$AP Rocky over his arrest.
The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Myers was recently charged with assault causing actual bodily harm during a confrontation in June in Stockholm. He will remain in custody until a trial takes place.
According to NBC 4 Washington, 26-year-old Rebecca Kanter was arrested on Tuesday after she allegedly threatened to “blow up” the Swedish Embassy in D.C. during an apparent protest of the rapper’s incarceration.
Secret Service Officer, William Ayers said Kanter first appeared at the Swedish complex on Monday when she “threw liquid from a glass Coca Cola bottle at the doorway and yelled out ‘I’m going to blow this motherfucker up.'”
She reportedly left the premises before law enforcement could intervene, and went on to write about her efforts on social media.
“Why isn’t it breaking news that I defiled the House of Sweden last night, that I vandalized the World Bank, that I vandalized the IMF,” she wrote online, according to a criminal complaint penned by Ayers. “Why aren’t I getting press for ASAP?”
The lady later returned to the scene the following day and allegedly began shouting at embassy personnel and a student tour group, as well as “making statements” about Rocky.
Embassy staff asked Kanter to leave the premises; however, the woman refused and reportedly said, “Call the police, I am not leaving.”
She was arrested by secret service and booked on charges of willfully injuring and damaging property of a foreign government and refusing to depart a foreign embassy.
Kanter was also accused of damaging property within the building, including a teepee display and a coffee table.
According to NBC 4, she has been released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 31.
On Thursday night, President Donald Trump attacked Sweden on Twitter and said they have let the African American Community down over the confrontation case. He is also demanding that A$AP Rocky is given his freedom.
