A 60-year-old man has been arrested by the Imo State Police Command for severally defiling a 9-year-old girl living with his family.
It was gathered that after the father of the victim, Mr Chijioke Agu reported the ugly incident to the police.
The suspect identified as Alexander Madu from Umuoziri Inyishi in Ikeduru Council Area of the state was arrested on September 24.
While addressing journalists on the arrest of Mr Madu, the State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo disclosed that the 9-year-old girl was defiled due to medical report from the Police Hospital in Owerri.
Reacting to the development, Mr Agu who reported the case to the police revealed that the victim who is a relation of the wife living with them has been subjected to rape multiple times.
“Whenever the wife was away in the market, he did it until the victim opened up on the 23rd of September 2019,” he said.
