Juliet Ibrahim has also joined Toke Makinwa in reacting to a post shared by Snoop Dogg that appears to encourage women to stick with partners through the good and the bad.
It all began with Snoop Dogg sharing a post about Keyshia Ka’oir sticking with Gucci Mane when he went to jail, when he was cheating on her, when he was on drugs, when he was overweight, and when he was on a downward spiral. All these happened before Keyshia and Gucci got married.
By 2017, Gucci had cleaned up his act and eventually married Keyshia after eight years of dating.
The post went on to criticize other women who wouldn’t stay through such but will be on to the next man after a couple of fights.
Snoop’s post got a reaction from Gucci Mane.
He replied: “Yessir My wife my secret weapon.”
However, Toke Makinwa, who narrated in her book how she stayed with her ex-husband who she said cheated on her, gave her STDs, and impregnated another woman, condemned Snoop Dogg’s post.
She said it’s a wrong mentality that is ruining the lives of multiple women. She went on to ask how many men will be advised to stay with a woman who did all the things Gucci did to Keyshia.
Juliet Ibrahim, whose marriage also ended, after which her husband began making derogatory comments about her in public, also slammed Snoop Dogg’s narrative.
Juliet asked people to work on themselves and “stop promoting negativity and bad behaviour” yet expecting their partners to deal with all of that and stick with them.
She added: “I’ll remain single than suffer any form of disrespect from any man in this world… Till I meet someone whose mother raised him right and wasn’t taught that cheating is a “normal thing” I’ll stay single and enjoy living my best life while loving myself right.”
