Ebonyi state APC member and organising secretary for President Buhari’s 2019 campaign organization, Charles Enya has filed a suit seeking the amendment of the constitution to allow the President to run for a third term.
Charles Enya stated that the two-term tenure limit for presidents and governors is “discriminatory” when put beside the and legislative branches of government in Nigeria.
The suit (FHC/AI/CS/90/19) is filed before a federal high court in Abakiliki, Ebonyi State.
Mohammed Sani-Omolori, clerk of the national assembly; the national assembly and Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation and minister of justice are co-defendant of the suit.

Daily Trust reported that he is seeking an “order of the court nullifying and setting aside section 137(1)(b) and 182(1) (b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and directing the first and second defendants to delete and expunge sections 137(1)(b) and 182(1)(b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, (as amended).”
The news comes days after President Buhari demoed having a third term agenda.
