In a viral video, a Doctor in Canada advises people about what to do to minimize the risk of contracting coronavirus (COVID-19).
Dr. Gurjit Bajwa said, “The numbers that you see in the media are not accurate. There are so many more people out there who have it… it’s going to get a lot worse”.
He asks people to take social distancing advice seriously, “We need to get away from each other, don’t have friend or parents over, do not be in close distance with each other, act as you already have it, that’s the way to help yourself from getting it and spreading it.”
The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak in Canada has jumped by more than 50% on Sunday.
In Ottawa, federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu said people need to get the message about staying home or the federal government will step in.
There are coronavirus cases in all 10 Canadian provinces.
Nearly 1,400 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Canada and 19 people have died. Worldwide there have been more than 300,000 cases.
