Police arrest dismissed sergeant who specializes in motorcycle snatching in Bauchi

A dismissed police officer who specializes in snatching motorcycles in Bauchi has been arrested.

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested dismissed police sergeant Makama Musa, 34, for robbery and impersonation. The native of Gombe state was arrested on June 24.

According to information by the Command’s public relations officer, DSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the patrol team attached to Yelwa Police Station Bauchi arrested Musa. Wakil explained that dismissed sergeant Musa was arrested wearing a police uniform along Dass road following a series of complaints by residents.

“The suspect confessed to the crime and the following exhibit was recovered from him; Neon blue shirt and black trousers. Device rank of sergeant and Police badge. Boxer motorcycle with number plate DBM-319-UR, Bauchi.”

He added: “The Commissioner of Police directed that the case should be transferred to SCID for discreet investigation after which the suspect would be charged to court for prosecution/possible conviction.”
