Nearly a year after the death of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, a Service of Thanksgiving for his life was held on Tuesday 29 March 2022 at the Westminster Abbey, London. The British royal family, Members of Her Majesty’s Government and Opposition, Members of Foreign Royal Families, Diplomatic Corps, Representatives of the Overseas Territories, and other dignitaries, gathered to remember him.

Representing the Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA) at the event was the President, Abimbola Okoya, as well as Vice Patron, Philip Hall (OBE) as they joined others in praying for Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and the entire royal household and for the repose of the soul of the late Prince who died on April 9, 2021.

The Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA) was formed in Nigeria in 1969 as a corresponding association now known as the British-Nigeria Education Trust, which is based in the UK and had H.R.H. Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, as its patron. In 2009, the association was incorporated as a trust, a non-profit making organisation dedicated to developing relationships between individuals and organisations in Nigeria, Britain and the Commonwealth resident in Nigeria.

The Association also organises socio-cultural activities designed to bring together friends and associates from Nigeria, Britain and the Commonwealth with a collective vision to impact positively on the community.
