Drama as lecturers of Federal University Lokoja, Kogi state stormed the campus with placards and obituary posters and sweeping the Adankolo Campus of the University, signalling the end of Angela Freeman Miri’s vice-chancellor tenure.
Angela Freeman Miri is a Nigerian Professor who became the Vice-Chancellor of FUL in 2017. She is a professor of English and a published poet.
When Professor Miri was ushered in as the university new vice-chancellor in 2017, many wouldn’t have thought the end of her tenure would be this disastrous as she held for herself a good public opinion that culminated in her been a returning officer in the 2019 general presidential election in Nigeria.
Accused of mismanagement and embezzlement of public funds, Miri bows out of office after 5 years
Prof Miri was accused by the majority of the lecturers of Promotion stagnation, delayed payment of earned allowances, dictatorship among other ill doings and she was by and largely unpopular with the staff.
At a point in time, she was reported to the ministry of education on grounds of gross financial misconduct but she came out of that accusations unscathed.
