A 4-year-old boy miraculously survived a six-story fall from his family’s apartment window on Tuesday, April 5 officials and witnesses have said.

The child fell from the apartment window in Morris Avenue, Brooklyn, New York at 12:45 p.m.

As he landed on a patch of grass, shocked witnesses couldn’t believe he was alive.

“It was a miracle that he fell in this grass,” Juanita Kelsey, 57, who witnessed the aftermath, told the Daily News.

“That boy was still moving and he was fighting. I mean God is good, that’s all I can say.”

Police shocked to see the boy alive, put the child in an NYPD van and rushed him to Lincoln Hospital about two blocks away.

Investigations by the police department is ongoing to determine how the child fell out of the window.

A woman said she landed in hospital and needed emergency surgery because she held in farts around her boyfriend for two years.

Cara Clarke, 19, was at work when she developed “extreme stomach pain” on Tuesday, March 29.

She was rushed to a hospital where she was diagnosed with appendicitis.

It turned out the condition can be triggered by blockages and pressure build-up. Cara believes her suppressed farts around her boyfriend and the subsequent pressure build-up is what led to her condition.

The barista, who has been with her 21-year-old boyfriend Kyle Duffy for two years, recalled he was “dying laughing” after finding her efforts not to fart in his presence left her needing surgery.

Cara vowed to just “let it out from now on”, after admitting she had no idea how dangerous holding in fart could be.

Cara, from Louth, Ireland, said: “I do hold in my farts but I didn’t think I would be in hospital over it.

“I’m pretty easy-going other than the burps and farts. I was at work on Tuesday and I had this real extreme pain in my stomach.

“I went to the doctor in hysterics and he referred me straight to the hospital. I was in so much pain I couldn’t hold in my tears.

“My doctor said to me ‘I’m so, so sorry you’re in so much pain’. I was limping when I was walking all hunched over.

“At hospital, I started blaming my boyfriend because I do always hold my farts in around him. We’ve been together two years and it’s still the case.

“Kyle was dying laughing. He honestly didn’t know what to say. He said, ‘God, people are going to think you’re afraid of everything with me.'”

“At this stage, I’ll just have to let it out from now on.”

Cara left the hospital two days later, on Thursday evening, March 31.

She said: “It wasn’t one of those hectic surgeries that it used to be a while ago. I’m on strong painkillers and I should be back to work in the next week or so.

“I’m just chilling now and taking advantage of everyone catering for me.”

Prosecutors in New York have revealed how corrupt officers snuggles contraband substances into a notorious New York prison.

Two New York city correction officers also known as prison guards smuggled contraband cellphones and drugs to Bloods gang members on Rikers Island in exchange for thousands of dollars in bribes, according to federal prosecutors.

Krystle Burrell, 35, and Katrina Patterson, 31, were arrested Tuesday, April 5 after running separate schemes that involved different Rikers jails, the FBI said.

Between October 2020 and March 2021, prosecutors of the case said, Patterson meticulously planned dropoffs of contraband and received more than $30,000 from Imani Matthews, 25, and Ashley Medina, 24, two girlfriends of Michael Ross,a prisoner who was being held at Rikers island on criminal weapon possession charges.

Prosecutors say in one occasion, Patterson snuck in to Ross what she said were “4 black joints in 1 paper,” insisting to Matthews that “it better be wrapped so many times I don’t want to smell it,” prosecutors said.

On Nov. 10, 2020, investigators say they discovered nearly 50 grams of marijuana in Ross’ cell at the Robert N. Davoren Center on Rikers as well as a contraband cell phone, the feds said.

After the discovery, Ross was sent to solitary confinement, while Patterson was sent into a panic.

“Call me I gotta see you asap did he destroy the phone they found the phone and mad weed… they have the phone I hope he deleted everything,” Patterson wrote in a message to Medina.

Just 15 days after the bust in Ross’ cell, Patterson wanted to get back to smuggling contraband, prosecutors said.

“Tell him tomorrow if he ready to get back to business let me know,” she wrote to Matthews in a text message on Nov. 25.

Matthews and Medina paid Patterson through a money receiving app called CashApp, and Patterson was caught on video smuggling in bags of what prosecutors say was narcotics to inmates associated with Ross, the feds said.

Meanwhile the other officer, Burrell smuggled for Terrae Hinds, 28, another Bloods gang member, prosecutors said.

Burrell, a veteran of the Department of Correction smuggled Hinds two cellphones, one of which once belonged to her, the feds allege.

Burrell has also been accused of helping Hinds distribute narcotics while he was jailed at the Anna M. Kross Center.

Mattthews, Medina, Ross and Hinds have also been BB charged with bribery conspiracy in the case. All six defendants face up to five years in prison.

In a statement, New York city Correction Commissioner Louis Molina called the allegations against Patterson and Burrell “disturbing,” and noted that smuggling contraband is illegal and “puts everyone in our facilities at risk.”

“If these officers are found guilty they will be terminated and their shield numbers will never be worn again,” Molina said.

The National Administrative Council (NAC) of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has sacked Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, as the Lagos State Chairman of the union.

The union also dissolved its Lagos State council.

The National Administrative Council of the union made this known in a statement titled “Dissolution of Lagos State Administrative Council”, jointly signed by its national president, Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa, and general secretary, Alhaji Kabiru Ado Ya’u.

The union said the decision was based on the provisions of the union’s constitution.

The union’s secretary in Lagos State, Seyi Bankole, was subsequently announced as the new head of NURTW in Lagos.

The statement reads in part: “In view of the fact that nature abhors vacuum, the state secretary of the union, Comrade Seyi Bankole, is hereby directed to take over the running of the affairs of Lagos State council pending the constitution of a caretaker committee after consultation with relevant authorities.”

The statement also advised all members of the union in the state and general public to henceforth desist from dealing with members of the dissolved Lagos States council on issues concerning the union.

Recall that MC Oluomo was earlier suspended by the national body of the union on grounds of insubordination and incitement to violence.

In the statement released today, April 6, the national body stated that it took the decision to dissolve the Lagos State council due to the failure of MC Oluomo to show remorse.

The statement reads: “The National Administrative Council, during its meeting of March 15, 2022, graciously passed a resolution to grant pardon to the suspended state chairman if he showed remorse and tender unreserved apology to the union.

“However, up till this moment, the suspended chairman has bluntly refused to do so, hence, the decision to take action against the Lagos State Administrative Council by dissolving same.”

A number of people have expressed concern for a Nigerian woman arrested shortly after she relocated to Malaysia.

According to a Twitter user who narrated the incident, the girl recently relocated and when her ex, who lives in Malaysia, found out that she’s now in the same country as him, he asked to meet her so they can talk.

She agreed and he allegedly begged her to help him pick up a parcel in a nearby store while on her way to meet him.

The parcel ended up being drugs and the woman was arrested with it.

The ex-boyfriend, whohas been accused of setting the woman up, is nowhere to be found.

Former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has responded to Pastor Tunde Bakare’s incendiary statement that the Igbo people are cursed and cannot rule Nigeria yet unless that curse is reversed.

In a viral video, Tunde Bakare, the General Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, said the first Prime Minister of Nigeria, Tafawa Balewa, cursed the Igbo people before he was killed during a coup.

He added that he is reversing that curse.

Bakare said: “Why should anyone in this country say the Igbo man cannot be president of Nigeria? I was at Imo State and I told them the reason why the Igbo cannot rule Nigeria and I want to remove the curse today.

“Do you know what happened? The day Tafawa Balewa was killed, they removed his turban, poured wine on his head, forced him to drink, and shot him. In the process, he cursed them saying, ‘none of your tribe will ever rule Nigeria.

“I want to break the curse today because this generation of Igbos was not part of those people. By the authority of God’s word, I reverse the curse of Tafawa Balewa over the Igbo generation. Henceforth, the Igbo’s will have access to the throne like any other Nigerian”.

Speaking on Tuesday, April 5, at his Unity House Campaign office in Abuja, during the visit of the All Progressives Congress National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, Okorocha fired back at Bakare.

Okorocha said: “When I listened to Bakare mention that the Igbos are cursed in the cause of his preaching, I think that is an overstatement and unwarranted preaching. I must state here categorically that Igbos are not cursed and they will never be cursed.

“They are peaceful and blessed Nigerians who are found in every nook and cranny of this country. They may not be good politicians, because of the kind of politics we play in Nigeria, but definitely, they are not cursed. Igbos are a great asset to this country. They are not the problem.”

A man has reportedly died while pursuing his wife who was seeking refuge at a neighbour’s compound.

Fabian Omanyala was killed by the said neighbour identified as Robert Amukule after his wife ran to him for help.

The couple reportedly got into a domestic fight which quickly escalated, with Fabian’s wife running to their neighbour’s homestead.

A statement by the DCI read;

“What started as a domestic squabble quickly degenerated into a torrent of blows and kicks from Fabian Omanyala, as he assaulted his 53-year-old wife at their home in Kakemer location, Busia county”

Fabian was said to have followed his wife to their neighbor’s homestead who quickly came to her rescue. He is alleged to have launched a projectile from a catapult that struck Fabian on his forehead, leaving him dead on the spot.

The statement added;

“Amukule, who had heard the ensuing commotion quickly came to the aid of the woman by launching a projectile from a catapult, that killed Omanyala on the spot”

Effort to save Fabian were futile as he was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby health facility.

Amukule immediately took off and remains at large as officers launch a manhunt.

Nigerians have dug up superstar singer, Davido’s 2011 tweet where he talked about Nollywood actresses.

The singer in his tweet stated that Nollywood is just a way for actresses to showcase their “goodies” to rich men. Davido added that these actresses make more money “banging” than acting.

A 25-year-old man has shocked the world after disclosing his plans to marry his 85-year-old girlfriend.

Muima met his older lover Thereza when he was looking for a house to rent while he furthered his studies.

He and his colleagues found themselves at Thereza’s house in Kenya and they paid rent and moved in.

Muima and Thereza became friends and she used to jokingly call him her husband, which he took lightly, but as time went by, both started falling in love.

Muima told Afrimax English: “The way she behaved and treated (me) pushed me to love her and though she is an old woman and in reality, she could be my grandmother but I love her.”

He recounted a day his colleague was away, and he was hungry and had no food in his rental house. The woman brought him some food and served him with so much care before asking for a kiss, and he obliged.

Their bond grew stronger afterwards and the couple spent time playing, lifting one another and travelling despite Thereza’s age.

“This is my choice. This is my happiness, as anyone else has theirs. Before pleasing others, first, please yourself and decide not based on anyone else’s opinions,” Muima told Afrimax English.

Thereza has grandchildren older than Muima, but she is not ashamed of being in a relationship with him.

She said: “I have eight children and 20 grandchildren. According to my boyfriend’s age, he could be my fifth grandchild. He loves me and I love him. I am ready to put on the wedding dress and ring.”

Muima is even ready to pay the bride price of 12 cows which his girlfriend’s children have asked for.

He said he has found love with the granny after being in many dramatic relationships, which were draining.

“I’ll never choose any girl over this one. I pray she won’t die before me, “Muima added.

Thereza doesn’t rule out the chances of raising a family with her young boyfriend. She said there are examples in the Bible of old women who gave birth and that gives her hope.

Women’s rights activist, Laila St. Matthew-Daniel has reacted to the proposed bill to outlaw cross-dressing in Nigeria.

The House of Representatives received a bill seeking to prohibit cross-dressing in the country.

The bill, sponsored by a member, Muda Lawal Umar, passed first reading on Tuesday, April 5.

If passed into law, cross-dressing will become an offence in the country with the exemption of those using it for entertainment. Offenders will be liable to be jailed for six months

“So many important bills to pass on areas of security, reduced allowances, child marriage, women’s equity etc and a ‘cross dressing’ bill is more important? Who the heck are these lawmakers.” the right activist wrote.
